Allegri talks about the verdict, the match against Sporting CP and team news
Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport before the match against Sporting CP.
Can there be a bit more optimism from you regarding the Coni verdict?
“We are waiting for the verdict. We knew today was an important day both for the verdict and especially to prepare for tomorrow’s match, which would allow us to reach the semifinals.”
Does he have to work hard to only think about the game?

“No, once we know about the verdict, we put it aside and we will think about the game. Also because we have to do this, it is an important game and it is not easy because Sporting eliminated Arsenal. We must not think about the result of the first leg but we must play a decisive match.”
How is Rabiot? Will Chiesa and Szczesny play?
“Szczesny is fine and well. Rabiot is available and well and has done all the training. Then I have a doubt in midfield and one up front. I have two doubts left and then I decide tomorrow.”
Is one of these doubts Chiesa?
“One of these doubts is Chiesa and then one in midfield.”
Does Danilo widening the pitch prevent Chiesa from playing the whole flank?
“It’s not a question of playing with a four-man defense, it’s that Sassuolo played with three up front. Tomorrow is different because they play with three up front and two very high wingers, so we have to be very good. Tomorrow we need everyone to be defensively available and good at not conceding inside passes and lateral passes. They will try to put pressure at the beginning because they have to recover a game.”
Do you expect to be able to counterattack tomorrow?
“We have to play better technically, with personality, ball speed, and composure because the match is long and we must know that there will be difficulties within the match because we are playing against an excellent team in terms of organization and especially with excellent players.”
