Following Juventus’ final match of the season against Monza, defender Alex Sandro addressed the media in an emotional press conference, reflecting on his nine-year journey with the Bianconeri.

A Record-Breaking Farewell

Sandro’s departure marks the end of an era, as he ties Pavel Nedved with 327 appearances for the club. With tears in his eyes, Sandro expressed his gratitude to the fans, the city, Italy, and his teammates, both past and present.

“It’s been an incredible journey,” Sandro said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and I’m so happy for the beautiful history I’ve shared with these people.”

Cherishing the Memories

Sandro reminisced about his time at Juventus, highlighting the trophies, victories, and finals, but emphasizing the importance of the people he’s worked with.

“I’ve told everyone these past few days that the trophies, victories, and finals have been wonderful,” Sandro remarked. “But what I truly cherish are the people, the workers, the kit men, the security, the staff, the coaches, the presidents. Everyone. This love and respect is what truly makes Juventus a great family.”

An Emotional Goodbye

Sandro acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster of his final days at Juventus, admitting that he had imagined many scenarios for his farewell.

“It’s been an emotional rollercoaster,” Sandro confessed. “I had imagined many things, and this is what happened. I’ve done everything I could. The response from the fans? I thank everyone for welcoming me into their homes, their families, their lives. My heart will always be here, and there will always be a special place for the Bianconeri people.”

Looking Ahead to the Next Challenge

Despite the bittersweet emotions, Sandro expressed his determination to continue excelling in his next chapter.

“The most beautiful trophy is the love and respect of everyone,” Sandro stated. “The next challenge? As always, I will give my best regardless of where I am. Which team? Nothing has been decided yet. But I’m sure I’ll be happy in my next home, my next family.”

A Fitting Finale

Sandro’s final match at Juventus saw him score a memorable goal, fulfilling the wishes of his teammates Wojciech Szczesny and Daniele Rugani.

“I’ve done it a few times,” Sandro said with a smile. “Szczesny and Rugani told me: you have to end well with goals on the near post. And it happened. Thank you to everyone, and to God.”

Appreciation for Allegri

Sandro expressed his deep gratitude to manager Massimiliano Allegri, who played a pivotal role in his development as a player.

“Not just for these first few years, but for all these years,” Sandro emphasized. “It’s impossible to talk about my career without mentioning Allegri. He’s a person who has taught me so much. I thank him for the trust he has placed in me, and for others as well. He’s a special person.”

High Hopes for the Future

Sandro expressed his belief in the bright future of Juventus, highlighting the promising young players within the squad.

“What I’ve seen in the last season, everyone really wants to win, to improve,” Sandro observed. “Sometimes we were angry about the negative results, but that’s what helps you grow. The next seasons will be even better. The cycle of champions has begun with the Coppa Italia. There were players who had never won a trophy before. I think a new era of champions has begun.”

A Lasting Legacy

Sandro’s departure marks the end of an era at Juventus, but his legacy will undoubtedly live on. His dedication, passion, and contributions to the club have cemented his place among the Bianconeri legends.
