Allegri: We’re late for Scudetto

Juventus has bounced back from Atalanta and Chelsea defeats with a 2-0 win over Salernitana on Tuesday night. Thanks to Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata goals.

Here’s Massimiliano Allegri full post-match interview with DAZN:

«I think the guys had a good performance, it was not easy to play against Salernitana here. In the second half we took a risk, two or three crosses passed into the area. The moment is pressure, we lost against Atalanta after a good match. Chiellini said the right thing. We talked to the team. Juve gave us a lot, now we have to give Juventus a sense of responsibility. Trying to achieve a result, we have always failed with the small and medium-sized teams.»

SOLUTIONS?

«Right set-up? We managed the ball well, I think we need to improve on accelerations. In the conclusions, I’m happy. Morata wasn’t happy with the goal, but because he could have done more. The same Dybala. Tonight there was an old man to support, Chiellini, but then many young players. The team was young, in these moments a team like this can also suffer, but instead we were good. It was a good victory, we are at 24 points. The Scudetto at the moment, we are late, we have lost 11 points in the 4 games.»

DYBALA AND KULUSEVSKI

«These players are talented, but only with experience and playing, making mistakes and doing good things, as well as understanding the situations of the game, the badness … tonight everyone was available, Kulusevski is 21 years old, it’s not like he’s played 300 matches in Juve. He can improve. And he can do it with the help of the experts. Then the results will make us grow faster.»

PSYCHOLOGICAL WORK

«Fortunately we played after 3 days, with Atalanta, and we still had a good match. The best thing is to simplify things. I said two things that needed to be done, in the positions and in the trajectories, tried yesterday in the only training. Today I spoke on a mental level. What did I say? The words that Chiellini said, he said to the boys. We must now give Juventus to us. Give victories that make everyone feel better.»

IN THE JUVE WORLD

«Nothing has changed, the club has a great presence. The president spoke, Elkann spoke again today. We have to do our best on the pitch. What has happened in these two years away, I don’t want to know. The president asked me to bring forward a team that is not young, because they don’t like it, but with less experience. Sorry because we could have done better in those 4 wrong games, but I still had to know the players and them know me. Now we have some time to work and we hope to recover.»

ON MAROTTA

«If Marotta is missing? There is the president who is the number one reference. Arrivabene is present, I have known Cherubini for 30 years, he is balanced and good. People pass by, Juventus’ DNA must remain and will remain. There are moments in you win more and win less. It must be accepted as a challenge, I accepted it and I did it with serenity, aware of the difficulties. Juve won for 9 years, we need to get the most out of it. We know we are late in the league, we need to be responsible for Juventus and try to get the best. I think that with the stop of the Champions we will find other certainties, there is a bit of work to do.»
