Atalanta BC will be facing Juventus in a Serie A clash at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game is critical for both teams as they compete for a top-four finish in the league. Juventus ended their five-game winless run with a narrow win against relegation-threatened Lecce in midweek.

However, Atalanta has won their last three games and is in impressive form heading into the encounter.

Despite being five points ahead of both Roma and Atalanta, Juventus is yet to secure a Champions League spot for next season. The team has struggled throughout the campaign and has lost six of their 16 away games this season.

Although they have only lost once in their last 17 league visits to Bergamo, they have lost four of their last six meetings with teams inside Serie A’s top seven.

This weekend’s game is a must-win for Juventus as they look to build momentum before their Europa League semifinal against Sevilla next week.

Atalanta, on the other hand, is unbeaten in their last six league matches against Juventus. The team has picked up the most points in Serie A over the last seven matchdays and has won their last three games.

After winning half of their home games so far and losing five times in the process, La Dea’s home record is inferior to their away record.

However, momentum is certainly on their side, and they will be looking to capitalize on their impressive form to beat Juventus and move within two points of their visitors with four games left to play.

Team news and probable lineups

Juventus will be making some changes to their lineup for their upcoming match at Gewiss Stadium.

Unfortunately, Mattia De Sciglio’s season came to an end due to a serious knee injury, while Leandro Paredes is serving a suspension.

To replace them, Juan Cuadrado is set to take over on Juve’s right flank and Manuel Locatelli will return to the starting lineup.

Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik are both contenders to lead the attack, with Vlahovic having scored four Serie A goals against Atalanta in the past.

Meanwhile, Luis Muriel is expected to start for Atalanta after scoring their third goal against Spezia, with Rasmus Hojlund still recovering from a groin strain.

Although Muriel has never scored against Juventus in his 17 league appearances against them, his compatriot Duvan Zapata has scored six goals against them since 2013, making him the top scorer against the Bianconeri during that period.

There is a possibility that they may play together, as Ademola Lookman, Atalanta’s top scorer, is still dealing with a thigh issue.

Unfortunately, Jose Luis Palomino will also miss the game due to injury, but Atalanta’s back three could remain unchanged. Teun Koopmeiners and Marten de Roon are expected to play in midfield for the hosts.

Atalanta BC probable starting lineup: Musso; Toloi, Djimsiti, Scalvini; Maehle, De Roon, Koopmeiners, Zappacosta; Pasalic; Muriel, Zapata.

Juventus probable starting lineup: Szczesny; Danilo, Bremer, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Fagioli, Locatelli, Rabiot, Iling; Di Maria; Vlahovic.
