Kaio Jorge has recently given an extensive interview to Tuttosport after the friendly match with Juventus at Allianz Stadium that marked his ‘rebirth’.
Three goals at the stadium – “A truly happy moment in my life, because I was unwell and afraid I wouldn’t be able to return to certain levels. It took determination, hard work, and I’ve made a comeback. So, I’m content with that day at the Stadium; it’s a starting point.”
End of calvary – “Previously, I had an incredible fear of injuring my knee. I knew it was a serious issue and that returning to perfect form would be difficult. When it happened, I imagined many bad things. And I was afraid that my knee wouldn’t recover. But thanks to God, I’m well now, and I want to change the story and make up for lost time.”
A different Kaio? – “After what I’ve been through, I respond: yes, of course. I feel different, more mature, more determined in what I want to do. This situation, the surgery, and rehabilitation have helped me think differently, not just in football but in everyday life too. I face everything with a different spirit; I’ve changed. I make the right decisions and value things properly. I was out for a long time, and when I was out, I couldn’t wait to play, to be with my teammates. Training alone was painful. Then I realized I needed to change my attitude. Every training session became important. I had to give my all and not think about the rest.”

Inability to help the team – “It was frustrating and tough. I came to Continassa every day for treatments and specific training alone, watching my teammates. I was sad, but deep inside, I knew I would return. That motivated me to give my all to recover. When you lose something that seems obvious, like training as a group, you realize how important it is and how much you miss it.”
Difficult moments – “Eight or nine months after the injury, I began to rush my return, so I experienced some inflammations. This situation left me worried. I couldn’t wait to speed up; I didn’t have enough patience. Something was always happening, a bit of pain, and it scared me.”
Federico Chiesa – “I spoke to many players who had to undergo surgery, and they all reassured me, gave me advice, and concrete support. Fede’s injury was a bit different from mine, but it helped me a lot not to lose confidence. He, Danilo, and other teammates were there for me. I can’t name them all; it would be a long list. We’d be here until tomorrow… And then I might risk forgetting someone, which wouldn’t be fair.”
The Brazilians – “Danilo, Alex, Bremer, they lent a hand. And even Bonucci, he was fantastic with me. I also have a great relationship with Rabiot and Pogba, who’s really funny. We have a great rapport.”
Work in Brazil – “My physiotherapist and the Juventus staff were in constant contact. The work was planned and coordinated to achieve the set goals, following a precise path. I’m also very careful about my diet. I’ve been following a diet since I was injured, and I’m continuing it. It makes me feel lighter, better, and this aspect is also important for recovery.”
Affection from the fans – “No, no. I’ve always felt the affection of the Juventus fans, a lot, especially during the toughest period. I can only say to them: thank you.”
Words from Allegri – “I thank him a lot for these kind words. I’ve learned a lot from him. In the five months of training before the injury, I always gained something, in movements, positioning. He’s excellent, both as a coach and as a person. He really helps me.”
Whom he learned from – “When I arrived in Turin, there was Cristiano Ronaldo. I’m his number one fan, and he knows it. Playing with him was fantastic. I learned a lot; he conveyed ideas to me and gave me a lot of advice.”
Cristiano Ronaldo as a role model – “Well, yes. But everyone at Juventus has given me so much. Returning to Cristiano, he’s great as a person too.”
Reaching the top levels with Juve – “It’s my childhood dream. I’ve always wanted to play for a top team in Europe. Let me share this anecdote: when there were talks about Juve and me, even before the deal was finalized, I started studying Italian. I wanted to be ready. My agent told me, ‘But it’s early, we’re still at the beginning.’ But I had decided. I knew I was going to Juve, and I wanted to start knowing the language.”
Loan possibility – “I want to play here at Juve. But it doesn’t depend only on me. I have to talk to the management and the coach to understand what’s best for me, whether going on loan to play a bit more or staying to learn more. I still have to wait.”
Family – “My mom is here with me, and she was essential during the rehabilitation process, especially during the toughest moments. My dad is in Brazil, but we talk every day. Family and faith in God have helped me a lot.”
Tattoos – “I just got one, on Thursday, after the goals at the Stadium: a guardian angel…”
