Juventus didn’t started the game well enough, Paulo Dybala lost the ball which forced a turnover and resulted into a goal for the hosts. Luca Pellegrini found the net just 11 minutes after but the goal was ruled out due to a Adrien Rabiot deflected hand ball. Juventus, failed to create a clear cut in the first 45 minutes but in the stoppage time, Juan Cuadrado’s cross was directed into the net via a precise De Ligt header.
Juventus got the equaliser before the half time whistle which eased the nerves a bit. The Bianconeri came out better in the second half, with more energy, enthusiasm and fight. Paulo Dybala’s shot was turned in by Giorgio Chiellini but the goal was ruled out as Chiellini was standing in an offside position. In the 75th minute, a change fell to Dusan Vlahovic, who found the net with ease. The last 15 minutes were navigated well by the Bianconeri securing all three points.
Juventus enjoyed 60% of the ball position, the expected goals for the Bianconeri were 1.44 compared to Cagliari’s 0.27. Cagliari only managed a single shot on goal while Juventus had four of which two found the net.
