Current situation of Arthur’s possible departure explained

Last night in Torino, Juventus comfertably beat Sampdoria 4-1 in a round of 16 clash in the Coppa Italia, and not only were Juventini treated to a stellar performance from the Bianconeri, but they were also treated to a line up and formation in the midfield that they have been begging to see for quite some time. As finally Arthur Melo played in front of the defence and in front of him was no other than Manuel Locatelli. And in my opinion the combination looked great, and should leave supports and the Club feeling extremly optimistic.

There had been some transfer rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal, but with Juventus holding all the cards, unless Juve find an adequate replacement, a move to the Premier league, seems a bit of a stretch, but that didn’t stop Arthurs new agent Federico Pastorello from tying to ruffle some feathers, as it was revealed today by goal.com’s Charels Watts, that Pastorell had travelled to London to meet with the Gunners management, to finalize details in his clients potential contract and put pressure on Juventus. For Juve’s part, they don’t seem to want to budge, but could if they acquire the likes of Denis Zakaria from the German side Borussia Mönchengladbach, and according to Nico Schira, the club and the player already have a deal.

So in the end Arthurs future depends on Juve and Mönchengladbach agreeing to a deal, which for me and many others, hope that it may not happen, as the Locatelli/Arthur combination showed signs that it could work, and if it does work going forward, it could be enough to keep Arthur happy and his agent silent, as Juventus have important matches coming up in the weeks ahead, as they look to salvage the season and get into a top 4 spot that will secure Champions League qualification and some much need funds to sign players in the summer as the Club seems to be going through a bit of a financial crisis.
