Alessandro Del Piero has praised Juventus’ performance in their recent Europa League victory over Freiburg.
The former Juventus striker, who was present in the Sky Sport studios, commented on the team’s success, highlighting the importance of their 2-0 win.
Del Piero said, “It was not an easy victory, but an important one. The goals of Vlahovic and Chiesa, also in terms of morale, are strategically perfect in such an important match won by Juve.”
Despite the win, Del Piero acknowledged that the team had experienced some difficulties throughout the game, particularly with the man advantage.

He commented on the tension of the match, saying, “With too much suffering, also considering the man advantage, and in fact we saw Allegri screaming, we could hear it even here in Milan, but overall Juve gets the job done, well.”
Del Piero also shared his thoughts on Vlahovic’s penalty kick, which secured the first goal for Juventus. He praised the player’s technique, despite acknowledging that the goalkeeper had come close to saving the shot.
“Vlahovic penalty kick? He took it very well, for the simple reason that he scored. Technically it was not a great choice because the goalkeeper almost saved it, but when you score a goal, you’re always right,” he said.
The victory over Freiburg saw Juventus advance to the quarterfinals of the Europa League with a 3-0 aggregate score over two legs. Today’s goals were scored by Vlahovic on a penalty kick and Chiesa in the 94th minute.
