The last day of the winter transfer market saw Aaron Ramsey leave on loan to Rangers. The main reason for the Welshman’s departure was due to the fact he was out of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans and his constant injuries. Ramsey wanted continuity in his career since he was only playing for Wales during international matches. Rangers coach Giovanni Van Bronckhorst is dealing with the same issues that Juventus was dealing with for Ramsey, another injury.
Van Bronckhort announced before Ranger’s Europa League match against Borussia Dortmund that there was no news on Ramsey’s injury, but he will not be in the team. Federico Cherubini worked the final day of the transfer market to move the player on with Rangers only taking the 31-year-old on a dry loan without any obligation or right of redemption. Ramsey had plenty of options to return to the Premier League with Newcastle and Crystal Palace pushing for the player, but he chose the Scottish club to continue his career.
When Ramsey returns to Juventus, he will only have one year on his contract left. He is certain to leave the club this summer as he is completely out of any plans with the club, and they are looking to offload his hefty wages. If his injury problems persist, Ranger’s will not consider him in the future again and the Welshman will have to look elsewhere for opportunities to play again.
