John Elkann explained the reason behind Andrea Agnelli’s resignation

John Elkann confirmed that Andrea Agnelli is still a shareholder in the Agnelli family group and is an integral part of the Board of Directors.
He said this after Andrea Agnelli resigned as Juventus president in November after 10 years in charge amid an investigation into the club’s transfers and alleged false book keeping.
Andrea Agnelli has been barred from all football activities where the ban prohibit him from engaging in football activities in Italy with the request that the ban be extended to UEFA and FIFA activities.
John Elkann, the CEO of Exor, said that Agnelli resigned to defend himself best way from a series of accusations that have yet to be proven to date.

“Andrea Agnelli remains a shareholder of our Giovanni Agnelli family group and is an integral part of the Board of Directors,” said John Elkann, via Gianluca Di Marzio.
“Over the past 10 years he has completed a very important job as president of Juventus. His choice was to step back together with the whole club board to defend himself in the best way from a series of accusations that have yet to be proven to date.”
