The New Super League
The Super League project proposes an innovative structure built on a pan-European pyramid, consisting of three levels and a total of 64 participating clubs. Key elements of the proposal include:
- Star League and Gold League: The first two levels with 16 clubs each.
- Blue League: The third level with 32 clubs.
- Promotion and Relegation: Based on sporting merit, with no permanent members.
- Matches and Knockout Stage: Clubs will play in groups of 8, with a minimum of 14 matches per year. The knockout stage will determine the champions and promoted clubs.
- Women’s Competition: Structured similarly with Star and Gold Leagues.
Financial Sustainability and Revenues
To ensure stability in the initial phase, revenues during the first three years will be guaranteed significantly more than the current cycle.
Solidarity payments will represent 8% of league revenues, with a minimum of €400 million, more than double the amount distributed in the current pan-European competition.
