In an exclusive interview with Tuttosport, football legend Dino Zoff discussed Juventus’ prospects for the upcoming season.

From potential reinforcements to tactical considerations, Zoff provided insights into the Bianconeri’s preparations for the Serie A campaign.

In this interview, Zoff shared his thoughts on various topics related to Juventus’ readiness for the season. Here are the full quotes from the interview:

The Quest for Scudetto: “I believe there’s nothing lacking at all. This way, the team is already prepared to play its chances for first place.”

European Competitions Advantage: “I’d say it’s a relative advantage, I’d even say I prefer going to the field every week in Europe as well. I thought that when I was a player and a coach, my opinion hasn’t changed today. Juventus will now have a single goal and will be forced to play everything in the championship, which will increase the pressure since they can’t afford mistakes. Can I tell you something?”

“Please, go ahead.”

“We’re always worried in Italy. In fact, the big teams reach cup finals and still win titles. Just look at Manchester City. Here, we’re afraid of commitments on more than one front, and they say that no team can be competitive on multiple fronts.”

Chiesa’s Importance: “I’d say that Federico certainly deserves to be retained. And I have no doubt: we’re talking about a great talent.”

Potential Exchange of Players: “It’s Juventus’ duty to do a good job with these players. Apart from the market issues or budget differences between Vlahović and Lukaku, there are slight differences. It’s not the team’s problem…”

Lukaku’s Suitability for Tactical System: “Whoever doesn’t have Lukaku, can’t play football? (laughs) It seems to me that we’re capable of competing even without him, knowing that he’s a great striker.”

Rabiot’s Leadership Potential: “It’s important that Adrien plays and expresses himself as he did last year, when he really made a difference. Then, if wearing the armband gives him more responsibility, we’ll see. I think Rabiot showed good character last year, whether with Juventus or in the World Cup with France. With or without the armband, it doesn’t matter much…”

Dealing with Bonucci’s Situation: “I don’t know the reasons that led to this split. Surely this is not a good question for the environment. The ideal solution would probably be to find a solution by the end of the transfer market to avoid slipping on the thorny issue throughout the season.”

Giuntolj and Manna’s Exclusion: “If they made this decision about Bonucci, it means the club considered it the best thing for the team.”

Serie A Contenders: “Compared to last year, I expect a tight championship with four contenders for the title. There will be a great battle. Napoli is still the team to beat, especially with Osimhen’s consistency. After Napoli, I place Juventus alongside Milan.”

Pre-Season Performances: “They put in a good performance, that’s true. However, I’m curious to see them in real matches, because friendly matches aren’t very reliable and conclusive tests.”
