Maurizio Arrivabene hinted at De Ligt’s exit from Juventus earlier in an interview with Tuttosport. The Juventus CEO said when asked regarding De Ligt: “It is impossible to keep players who want to leave the club.”
These comments make it quite evident that De Ligt has asked to be sold this summer. We analyse five different names who could replace De Ligt at Juventus this summer.
1- Kalidou Koulibaly:
Koulibaly’s contract with Napoli expires in a year and Napoli are reportedly ready to sell the African defender for around €40M. However, the price tag may not be same in case of Juventus. I think Koulibaly would be a dream signing for Juventus. His age does not concern me as he can still play on top level for atleast another 3-4 years. Koulibaly will bring the leadership that Juventus lack after the departure of Chiellini. However, getting him is still more than complicated.

2- Gleison Bremer:
Bremer won the Serie A MVP defender last year and since then has been linked with some big clubs around Europe. Inter, however, are seen as the favourites to sign him and are waiting to sell Milan Skriniar before completing the deal. It will be difficult to get Bremer but maybe Juventus could give a go. Bremer, unlike Koulibaly will be a long term plan and would be a great addition to Juventus. Bremer is expected to cost around €40-45M.
3- Benoit Badiashile:
Badiashile is a very promising player who has a very high ceiling in my opinion but he may not be ready for a club like Juventus right now. He’s still 21 and very inexperienced at big stage but no doubt Badiashile could be an option for Juventus to replace De Ligt. The defender is valued around €30M.
4- Nikola Milenkovic:
Milenkovic has a contract expiring in 2023 and has a exit clause of €15M. Milenkovic would be a very cheap solution but in my opinion, he’s not at the level to replace De Ligt at Juventus.
5- Kimpembe:
A name that has been mentioned in the last hours is Kimpembe from PSG. It’s not clear if PSG will let him leave as they plan to play with a back 3 next season and he’ll be very important for them on the left side. PSG will be looking to pair him up with Marquinhos and Skriniar next season, so Kimpembe’s availability is not certain. Kimpembe is not a player I would be willing to bring to Juventus anyway.
Conclusion:
Out of these five names linked so far, only Koulibaly and Bremer would be a upgrade for me. Badiashile is a very talented player but inexperienced as mentioned above. I’m not a big of Milenkovic or Kimpembe.
