In an interview with Diario Ole, Angel Di Maria spoke about the overwhelming support for the Argentina national team, particularly in the wake of their World Cup victory. He shared that the outpouring of love from the public was more than he could have ever imagined and that it made him incredibly happy to see the impact the team had on people.
Di Maria also touched on the criticism that the team often faces, saying that it can be hurtful, but that he and his teammates were determined to rise above it and continue to represent their country to the best of their abilities.
The midfielder also reflected on the final match of the World Cup, saying that even when things seemed dire, he had confidence in his team’s ability to win because of his personal record of never losing a final in which he had scored a goal.
