No one has divided the Juventus fan base in recent years like Massimiliano Allegri. This is evident at the Allianz Stadium, where the Curva Sud applauds him while the rest of the fans are more indifferent towards the coach.
“It’s a strange fate for Massimiliano Allegri,” writes La Stampa (via Ilbianconero). “A winner like few other coaches in history, yet divisive, controversial, and criticized. Beyond the increasingly opposing factions, both of which are exacerbated by extremist fringes, and with full respect for beliefs and opinions, the exaggeration is objective when compared to the results.”
In recent years without success, the fans have felt free to raise their voices, and perhaps this is why there is an angry or funereal atmosphere around Juventus, who are third in the league and one foot in the Coppa Italia final, with several young players promoted and no transfer market behind them, almost like a failed season.
The derby is around the corner, and Allegri will arrive at it with the awareness that it could be his last time, despite a contract until 2025, between the club’s silence on the immediate future and the insistent rumors of contacts with Thiago Motta.

Allegri’s record which divided Juventus fan base
Allegri returned to Juventus in the summer of 2021 after two years away. In his first season back, he led the team to a fourth-place finish in Serie A and a Champions League round of 16 exit.
This season, Juventus are currently in third place in Serie A. The Bianconeri has one foot in Coppa Italia final after a 2-0 victory over Lazio in the semi-finals first leg.
Allegri’s critics argue that his style of play is outdated and that he is not getting the best out of his players. They also point to the team’s recent record in the Champions League as evidence that he is not a top-level coach.
However, Allegri’s supporters argue that he is a proven winner who has won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia titles. They also point to the fact that he has led Juventus to two Champions League finals in his previous spell at the club.
It remains to be seen whether Allegri will remain at Juventus beyond this season. The club’s hierarchy will make a decision on his future at the end of the season but the feeling is that he’s expected to leave at the end of the season despite having one more year contract according to the reports.
