Juventus is showing no signs of giving up on their pursuit of Lazio’s midfield sensation, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The timing of the potential transfer, however, hinges on Juventus’ ability to offload surplus players, as the Bianconeri look to knock on Lazio’s door.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito, on the other hand, remains firm in his demand for a fee of €40 million, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Milinkovic-Savic has long been on the radar of top clubs across Europe, with his performances for Lazio earning him widespread acclaim. Juventus, keen to bolster their midfield options, have identified the Serbian international as a key target.
However, the Turin-based club must first navigate the challenge of selling players surplus to requirements before making a move for Milinkovic-Savic.
The timing of their approach for Milinkovic-Savic will depend on their success in offloading players who are deemed surplus to requirements.
The Bianconeri are looking to bring in a variety of midfielders including the likes Arthur, Denis Zakaria and Weston McKennie to raise funds, while other players could also leave.
Milinković-Savić has already informed Lazio that he will not renew his contract, which is expected to expire in the summer of next year, and Lazio does not want to lose him for free.
