Juventus eyeing striker options from the Premier League: Werner, Martial & Firmino

Avatar

This article presents the trio of Timo Werner, Roberto Firmino and Anthony Martial that Juventus has been reportedly closely following. It is possible the Bianconeri could sign one of them to have second striker at their disposal to back Dušan Vlahović.

Timo Werner

Value: €35M (via transfermarkt)
Age: 26 (*Mar 6, 1996)
Height: 180 cm

In the last few days, Juventus have seemed to be interested in the German striker, whom they would like to get on loan from Chelsea. The Premier League hasn’t turned out to be the ideal league for the forward as he’s managed to get 10 goals and 13 assists in 56 appearances. In comparison, his Bundesliga times with Leipzig and Stuttgart were much more productive from his side, as he scored 89 times and assisted 42 times in the total of 221 games played.

The question is: Can the ‘currently far too unlucky’ Werner find the better version of himself again, but this time in the Serie A?

Roberto Firmino

Value: €32M (via transfermarkt)
Age: 30 (* Nov 2, 1991)
Height: 181 cm

Roberto “Bobby” Firmino was not as lethal during his Bundesliga appearances as Timo Werner was, scoring (only) 38 goals and providing 29 assists in a total of 140 matches. However, the Brazilian has proved himself more in the EPL with Liverpool. In 231 games played for the Reds in the Premier League, Firmino got himself 71 goals and 51 assists. Solely that is an indicator of how valuable an asset can Brazilian “Bobby” be. Moreover, his Champions League statistics are ones to highlight. UCL pressure has had a positive impact on the goalscorer. Firmino put the ball into the back of the net 20 times and assisted his teammates 13 times in just 49 appearances in the UCL.

According to certain reports, he may be a concrete option for Juventus. Despite Firmino’s trasfermarkt price being set at 32 million euros, Bianconeri are reportedly ready to offer slightly above €20M. Nevertheless, the news on this possible transfer are divided, and Jürgen Klopp denied the rumours, according to Fabrizio Romano:

Anthony Martial

Value: €16M (via transfermarkt)
Age: 26 (*Dec 5, 1995)
Height: 181 cm

The French international has quite good numbers in the Premier League with Manchester United (175 appearances/56 goals/31 assists), and Juve are reportedly evaluating the option of getting Martial to backup Dušan Vlahović but also to backup other areas as the Man United forward is used to playing different positions. Having played in Ligue 1, EPL and La Liga (on loan at Sevilla from January 2022 to June 2022), it is difficult to say whether the player would also adapt quickly enough in Italy, considering the fact he has lacked consistency throughout his career.

Juventini, who do you think should Bianconeri sign for the striker position?
