Angel Di Maria has announced that he will be leaving Juventus this summer after just one season.
The Argentine footballer was a key player for the Italian giants, but the club’s financial situation has prevented them from renewing his contract.
The announcement was made by Di Maria himself on his official Instagram account.
In his post, Di Maria expressed his gratitude towards his teammates and the club for the support and affection he received during his time at Juventus.
He also acknowledged the challenges he faced during the season and the disappointment of not being able to achieve the desired results.
“I have reached the end of a difficult and complicated stage. I’m leaving with the peace of mind of someone who gave everything to help the club continue to win titles, but it wasn’t possible,” wrote Di Maria on Instagram.
“I leave with the bitter taste of not succeeding, but with the happiness of bringing with me many friends of this wonderful locker room of which I was a part. Thanks to all my companions for the affection they have shown me since day one, I have always felt at home. A big hello to all the Juventus players for their daily affection. A big hug. I carry you in my heart.”
In addition to Di Maria, it has been reported that Adrien Rabiot and Leandro Paredes (on loan) are also expected to leave Juventus this summer.
Rabiot has been linked with a move to Manchester United, while Paredes is rumored to be returning to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite Juventus’ desire to keep Di Maria, the club’s failure to win any trophies this season and their seventh-place finish in the Serie A standings has forced them to make tough decisions.
The departure of the 34-year-old winger is just one of many changes the club will undergo this summer as they look to rebuild their squad.
Di Maria, who joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, was willing to stay with the club. However, the financial constraints faced by Juventus have made it impossible for them to keep him.
The departure of Di Maria is a blow to Juventus, who were hoping to build their team around him. The Argentine was a key player for the Italian giants, helping them to reach Europa League semi-finals.
Despite his impressive performances, Di Maria was unable to help Juventus secure a top-four finish in the Serie A standings.
The club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has put them under pressure to make significant changes to their squad.
The departure of Di Maria, Rabiot, and Paredes is likely to be just the beginning of a major overhaul at Juventus this summer.
The club is expected to make several new signings as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season and challenge for trophies next year.
