Juventus is currently dealing with a multitude of injuries during a crucial part of the season. Leonardo Bonucci just recently came back from an injury, but another player took his spot on the injury list. These are the current players who are out at the moment for injuries:
Federico Chiesa
With a thrilling comeback win against Roma, it cost Juventus a valuable player in the process. Chiesa went down early in the game holding on to his leg, with many fearing an ACL tear. He got up after he first went down but could not continue. Fan’s biggest fears came true the next day when J|Medical’s tests confirmed a cruciate ligament rupture in the left leg. The Italian will miss the rest of the season and will likely miss some of next season as he eases back to play.
Giorgio Chiellini
The Juventus captain has been dealing with calf injuries for a few years now and during the match against Hellas Verona, he picked up another injury. The Italian should be back by next week but won’t be rushed back into action.
Paulo Dybala
To prevent an even bigger injury, La Joya called for substitution during the match against Torino. He called for a sub just in time as he was experiencing muscular problems in his thigh. The Argentine should be back next week.
Daniele Rugani
The Italian center back was supposed to start against Torino until he was injured during warmups. His injury was problems with his hip flexor. Rugani should be back by the beginning of March.
Weston McKennie
During the Champions League match against Villareal, the American was writhing in pain after a tackle by Pervis Estupiñan. McKennie hopped on one foot off the field to be subbed out and had to be helped by the medical staff back to the bench. Tests showed that he had suffered two metatarsal fractures in his left foot. He will be out between eight and 12 weeks.
Kaio Jorge
The Brazilian was stretchered off in tears during the match with Juventus U-23 game against Pro Patria when he seemed to have suffered a knee injury. Diagnostics tests at J|Medical confirmed that he ruptured his patellar tendon in his right knee. There is no update as to when he can return to the team
With so many injuries for the first team, Massimiliano Allegri will have to adjust his team around and potentially call upon the youth academy players to fill the holes in the team.
