Juventus has officially communicated its decision to withdraw from the Super League project to both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Super League, initially formed by twelve elite European clubs, aimed to revolutionize the structure of football on the continent.
However, with only Juventus, Real Madrid, and Barcelona remaining committed to the controversial venture, the future of the Super League now appears uncertain.
Juventus confirmed this development in an official statement released earlier today.

The club expressed its intention to initiate discussions with the other remaining clubs regarding its possible exit from the project.
This decision marks a significant shift in Juventus’ stance on the Super League, as they were previously among the staunch supporters of the proposed reforms.
The rumors of Juventus’ potential withdrawal had been circulating in the media throughout the day, with reports from La Sexta and Relevo hinting at such a possibility. The club’s confirmation of their decision has now put an end to the speculations.
Furthermore, Juventus vehemently denied allegations of pressure from UEFA, which had surfaced earlier in the day.
The Italian club’s season has been marred by economic and sporting sanctions in Serie A due to the ‘Caso Plusvalías’ (Capital Gains Case), as well as the resignation of the entire Board of Directors, led by Andrea Agnelli.
These challenges may have played a role in the club’s reassessment of its participation in the Super League.
Shortly after the news broke, Javier Tebas, the president of LaLiga, the Spanish football league, responded to Juventus’ decision.
Tebas took to his social media accounts, posting a photo featuring Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, and Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, seemingly criticizing their involvement in the Super League project.
Alongside the photo, Tebas added a caption that read, “Let the last one close the door and turn off the lights.”
The departure of Juventus from the Super League project raises further questions about the future of the controversial initiative.
With dwindling support and ongoing criticism from various stakeholders, the fate of the Super League hangs in the balance.
As the remaining clubs assess the situation, it remains to be seen whether the Super League will continue with a significantly reduced number of participants or face an inevitable dissolution.
