In the wake of a double blow to their midfield, Juventus is actively in pursuit of reinforcements.
The recent suspension of Paul Pogba due to a doping violation and the disciplinary measures taken against Nicolò Fagioli for involvement in illegal betting platforms have left the Bianconeri in need of immediate solutions.
The club’s focus has now shifted to English midfielder Kalvin Phillips, currently plying his trade at Manchester City, according to multiple reports in Italy.
Phillips’ availability for a January move has become increasingly likely, given his limited playing time at the Etihad Stadium since his transfer from Leeds United.
Juventus envisions a loan deal until June, coupled with an option to buy, as the ideal arrangement to secure Phillips. While negotiations are ongoing, no formal discussions between the clubs have taken place yet.
Kalvin Phillips’ potential arrival would address a pressing need for Juventus, strengthening their midfield options.
Known for his robust presence in the center of the park, Phillips could provide the Bianconeri with much-needed depth and quality. His versatility and defensive abilities make him an appealing choice for the Italian giants.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City will actually let him leave on Juventus’s terms.
