Juventus Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli has set the task for his scouts to discover potential hidden gems ahead of the competition, aiming to bring them to the Continassa as soon as possible while keeping costs in check, according to calciomercato.com
One of the profiles that fit into this strategy is Winsley Boteli, a Swiss center-forward currently plying his trade at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Juventus team scouted him in person during the Future Cup 2023 and was captivated by his skills.
Despite being born in 2006, Winsley Boteli possesses a well-structured physique and excels at playing with his back to the goal and holding up the ball for his teammates.
He also demonstrates impressive mobility both horizontally and vertically, creating clean passing lanes for quick exchanges. His contract is set to expire in June 2025, and the potential transfer cost falls well within Juventus’ reach.
The recent change in his agent’s representation further fuels the possibility of his departure from the Bundesliga U19 in upcoming transfer windows.
Winsley Boteli is a center-forward with characteristics reminiscent of Moise Kean, whom Max Allegri has successfully transformed into a pure number nine.
Some even dare to draw more significant comparisons, like former Chelsea star Didier Drogba. In contrast to Moise Kean, at least for now, the Swiss forward finds the net with greater frequency, having already scored twelve times in eleven matches in the Bundesliga U19 this season.
