Juventus director Francesco Calvo has reiterated the club’s commitment to Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, amid rumours of interest from other European clubs.
The 22-year-old forward, who was a second-half substitute in Juventus’s recent 1-0 victory over Sporting CP in the Europa League quarterfinals, is reportedly a transfer target for several top clubs.
However, Calvo has stated that Vlahovic is “at the centre” of Juventus’s future plans, and that the club has no doubts about his importance.
“Vlahovic is at the centre of our project for the future and there are no doubts on that,” assured Calvo ahead of last night’s match.
“He still needs to express himself at his best and, aside from the media clamour, we see daily how much he wants to improve, which makes us hopeful for the future. This might not be his best period for Juventus, but we are confident going forward.”
Dusan Vlahovic has been without a goal from open play for a long time, with his last goal coming at the end of February, but he is undoubtedly one of Juventus’ most important players.
The striker has scored eight goals in Serie A this season which has been hampered by injury problems.
