Juventus v Nantes: Match preview, team news and probable lineups

Max Statman

Juventus will face Nantes in the Europa League play-off round for a chance to progress to the last 16 of the competition.

The Italian giants have had a difficult season in Europe, crashing out of the Champions League after five defeats in Group H, including a loss to Maccabi Haifa.

They are hoping to salvage their season with a Europa League triumph, especially after being deducted 15 points due to financial irregularities.

Despite their recent struggles, Juventus has managed to win their last three games in the league and cup competitions.

They will be playing against a Nantes team that has been in good form, losing only once in their last seven Ligue 1 matches.

Team news and probable lineups

Juventus will be without Arkadiusz Milik, who is out with a hamstring injury, while Paul Pogba and Kaio Jorge both remains sidelines.

The captain and centre-back Leonardo Bonucci is in doubt while Juan Cuadrado expected to be available for the match even though he’s not fit to start from the beginning despite late surprises.

Meanwhile, Nantes will be without Quentin Merlin due to an adductor problem, but they will be hoping that Nigerian winger Moses Simon will pass a fitness test and play a part in the game.

Juventus probable starting lineup: Szczesny; Danilo, Bremer, Sandro; De Sciglio, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Di Maria; Vlahovic, Chiesa.

Nantes probable starting lineup: Lafont; Centonze, Castelletto, Girotto, Hadjam; Sissoko, Moutoussamy; Blas, Mollett, Guessand; Delort.
