A Fact about the Opponents:
Initially, the city of Rome had 4 football teams. It was the idea of Italo Foschi, who was the Roman representative of the ruling National Fascist Party to merge all these 4 clubs in order to give the Italian capital a strong club to rival that of the more dominant Northern Italian clubs of the time. In the spring of 1927, a new roman club AS Roma was founded. However, only 3 out of 4 roman clubs agreed for the merger, namely Roman SC, SS Alba Audace and Fortitudo- Pro Roma GS. The other club resisted the merger because of the intervention of the army General Vaccaro, who was also the member of Italian Football Federation on the common request of club fans as they felt their ideology never matched the other 3 clubs. That club was none other than SS Lazio, and this fiasco led to the creation of one of the most heated derby in Italy, the Derby Della Capitale.
