Juventus have wasted too many opportunities against Malmö, according to Massimiliano Allegri. The Bianconeri won, not for the first time this season, with 1-0. Chelsea were unable to beat Zenit, so Juventus finish top of their group. Allegri also looks at Juve’s trip to Venice on Saturday.
Allegri was happy with the result, but saw that Juventus were missing too many chances. “Here we need to improve”, he told Sky Sport after the match. “We must be more clinical in front of the goalkeeper. We wanted to play an aggressive game. At 1-0 the games are always in balance.” Allegri said that he wanted to test everyone’s conditions and they responded well. “Arthur, Bentancur and Rabiot, but also De Winter showed personality, as did Rugani and Perin.”
Venezia
A ‘difficult’ game awaits Juventus on Saturday, the Italian coach said. “No one has ever played in Venice and we need a completely different game.” Allegri hopes to improve the performances from a mental point of view between now and February. “Venezia is a team that plays well and attacks. It will be a difficult field and it will take an orderly and fair game to get three points. Maybe you need a little more serenity to score goals. We need to improve the scoring percentage.”
He finished by looking at the Bianconeri’s injuries. McKennie could recover, but it’s unlikely. “The others certainly not.”
