Juventus were indeed very disappointing in their 1-1 draw vs Fiorentina. The Bianconeri only managed one shot on target in the whole game.

Juve have only managed to win two of their five league games so far this season which is simply not good enough, but not only the results have been unconvincing, the performances as well have been disappointing.

We know Masimmiliano Allegri is a pragmatic manager who does not like to risk a lot but sitting back and playing for a draw in the second half against Fiorentina is just not acceptable. Juventus failed take a single shot in the second half, no intent at all to try to win the game from Max Allegri’s side.

Team Selection – Allegri decided to bench Vlahovic due to the upcoming Champions League game against Paris Saint German but later in his press conference admitted the game against PSG will not be crucial. The Italian stated the crucial games for Bianconeri will be those against Benfica. If the PSG game is not crucial than there was no point in benching Vlahovic today. Moreover, Fabio Miretti, who was impressive against Spezia, should also have retained his place in the starting line-up. Miretti, has arguably been Juventus’ best midfielder this season till now.

Mattia Perin has been remarkable this season, the Italian made a brilliant save to deny Luka Jovic from twelve yards out. Perin has already gained the trust of the supporters and has shown he is more than just a second choice goalkeeper. Masimmiliano Allegri could have a difficult decision to make once Wojciech Szczesny is fit, if Perin keeps up this form.

Full backs – It is not hard to figure out that Juventus full backs options aren’t good enough. The management decided to not invest in this area during the summer transfer window and today we saw again why it was a big mistake to not bring in someone in this position.

Moving on – Manuel Locatelli and Weston Mckennie have been very disappointing this season so far. Both the player’s have been completely out of form. Locatelli played in a more advanced role today but failed to make any impact. Weston Mckennie doesn’t look like himself, it seems to be he is lacking match fitness too.

Leandro Paredes’ didn’t have the debut he would have hoped for – the Argentine gave away a penalty but was bailed out by Mattia Perin. It is still too early to say a lot about him but the fans will be hoping for better signs from him in the coming weeks.

Arkadiusz Milik is proving to be crucial for Juventus. The Polish has now scored in back to back games. Milik is proving out to be a good purchase by the Bianconeri. He has shown that he can do the job when called upon.

Filip Kostić registered a assist today but was again unconvincing. The Serbian has not hard a good start to his Juventus career. Hopefully there will be better signs from him as well in the upcoming games.
