Locatelli has just had his first interview with Juventus a few hours ago. While wearing the Juventus training shirt, the ex-Sassuolo player started answering the interview by recalling back his fond memories of being a Juventus fan.

Locatelli Has Always Been a Juventino

“This shirt has always been my dream since childhood. If I’m here it’s because I deserve it, but there will be a lot of work to do. Juve has always been my priority”

Honestly, we never come to a realization of him being a Juventus fan back in the days. Whereas names like Nicolo Zaniolo have been pretty obvious from the starting days that he being a Juventus fan, a name like Locatelli surprised us.

“In my bedroom, I had posters of Nedved, Del Piero, and Buffon”

Probably Locatelli is the guy who always telling himself to play it cool, smile, and wave. This, obviously, until his own brother also reveal the silver curtain that he is a Juventino back in June.

He definitely has the silver tongue with him. Let’s hope he also got that touch in midfield.

Locatelli Was Also Frustrated?

This transfer window is probably the longest for us Juventus fans. Yet, this is probably an understatement had we shift the subject for Locatelli.

“The negotiations took a long time, but I’m here now and it’s a source of great pride”

He is 100% right. The saga regarding him joining Juventus has been started since the 2020 EURO and has been stalled since.  Many have argued that such prolonged talk is unavoidable because Juventus needs to adjust a lot of things within the transfer. Presumably, including waiting for the sale of our players too.

Nevertheless, the boy is ours now and that’s all that matters.

Locatelli and His Expectations

Allegri is an immensely influential coach in the world of football and nothing can keep it from being a secret. Locatelli also acknowledged the fact that his new adventure with Juventus is not going to be any easier than before.

“Here at Juve I immediately perceived a different mentality. Being coached by Allegri is an honour”

Hence, he is keen that working with Allegri will challenge him to the next level. It has also been obvious that Allegri has been assertive for asking his Juventus side to move to be ball vertically and horizontally.

“I’ll certainly be going into a fast-moving midfield, in which the coach will ask us to move the ball forward. I’m here and at the coach’s disposal.”

Mentality of Winners

Locatelli does not necessarily share a lot of playing times with Juventus players.

Perhaps ex-Juventus players like Alessandro Matri and Federico Peluso are familiar names and have something to do with his mental-game development during his time in Sassuolo.

It has been obvious, however, that his journey through the EURO, especially alongside Chiellini and Bonucci, did a much bigger impact than those two previous names.

It was nice greet my international teammates here. I’ve been speaking to them over the last few months and I admire their mentality. Chiellini welcomed me as if I were his younger brother, it was a wonderful hug.

Locatelli did mention the sheer winning mentality the Juventus squad has. Yet, not forgetting about the warm welcome given by the club: not only from Chiellini with his wide and warm hug, but also from the Il Principino.

I heard that Marchisio wanted me to come here. He did a lot for Juve, I’d like to follow in his footsteps.”

Agent Claudio did his best to bring Manuel to our home.

Locatelli also praised Dybala and Ronaldo for their conduct to the club. He implied that such a mentality from them will bring Juventus into winning another championship.

We’re here to win. Juve is full of champions. It’s an honour and a pleasure to share the locker room with people like Cristiano and Dybala

Locatelli has also chosen 27 as his number. He implied that 7 is his “lucky number” and can’t wait for his new adventure in Juventus shirt.
