Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with moves to several clubs in the upcoming transfer window. However, he might be available for cheaper than originally estimated.
According to Calcio Merecato, Bologna might be forced to sell the Dutch striker for only 40 million euros. This is due to a release clause in Zirkzee’s contract. However, the clause could have some terms and may only be available for his former club Bayern Munich.
Juventus’ transfer plans
In addition to Juventus, Zirkzee has been linked with moves to AC Milan and Arsenal. The release clause could increase Juve’s chance of signing the forward this summer. The original price for Zirkzee was thought to be around 60 million euros.
Juventus’ financial situation has been affected by COVID-19 debts and the fallout with Andrea Angelli and the rest of the board. Nonetheless, the club are eager to rebuild the team with new signings, with Zirkzee being one of their priority targets.

Juventus are looking for a second striker to support Dusan Vlahovic. Federico Chiesa has been the main attacker to support the Serbian striker alongside Kenan Yildiz and Arkadisuz Milik. Zirkzee’s potential arrival could free Chiesa and Kenan Yildiz to move back to their original positions of winger and attacking midfielder, respectively.
His season
This season Joshua Zirkzee has been critical for Bologna’s success under Thiago Motta. This season, he has played a hybrid role which has been coined ‘9.5’ as he plays at the only striker but he does drop deeper and supports his midfield.
The Dutchman has featured in 34 Seria A games in the current campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists. Unfortunately, this is all he will reach this seaosn as he is injured and won’t feature in the remaining fixtures.
