Nicolo Zaniolo’s future at AS Roma is still in a great deal of doubt due to a great deal of inconsistency, and now even potential suitors are staying on the fence.

The 22-year-old has struggled immensely this season under Jose Mourinho, with things growing even more frustrating for the Italian in recent weeks as his lack of form led to him being benched in the Derby della Capitale win, and he did not even feature for Italy in the play-off disappointment against North Macedonia.

His performance was also lacklustre in Italy’s 3-2 friendly win against Turkey on Tuesday, frustrating Roberto Mancini even more.

According to a report from Calcio Mercato ,Juventus, who are heavily interested in signing Zaniolo in the summer, have recently started to grow doubtful on whether making a move for him is the right option.

Additionally, the Bianconeri are definitely unwilling to pay the Giallorossi the staggering €55-60 million that they are demanding for the Italian.

To make it even worse for Zaniolo, should he opt to stay in Rome, his new deal would be a long way away from the €5 million net per season that he wants, and so he will need to perform at the highest level possible in the final weeks of the season if he wants to earn a contract proposal that goes anywhere near that amount.

Zaniolo has been ruled out of Roma’s game on Sunday against Sampdoria, but he could make his way back into the side in the Giallorossi’s big game in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Bodo/Glimt.

The Inter academy graduate has struggled for any sort of form this season, with him suffering from plenty of small injuries that have limited his starts in Mourinho’s team.

This season, Zaniolo has played in 33 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing eight assists, being shifted to numerous positions, from up front, in midfield and even to right wing.
