Opinion: I would swap Depay for Morata every single day

It’s no secret that the moment Alvaro Morata and his family arrived back in Turin from his 3 years away from the club that he was in fact home, but for how long was always going to be the question , as his move back to Juve would not be on a permeant basis as it was only a 2 year loan with his Club Atletico Madrid, thus making his only chance of staying beyond this season, was to impress management and supporters of the club during this 2 year loan window.
Morata is trying in every way to correct what seems to be a doomed fate in his Juventus return. The recent increase in goals against lesser opponents Juve have faced this month, still may not be enough. Even with encouraging signs against Roma over the weekend, rumours of a possible move to Barcelona just won’t seem to go away.
A new report from Sky Sports Gianluca Di Marzio “In the next few hours Juve could intensify contacts again with Barcelona, to understand if it is possible to sign Memphis Depay on loan. The Dutch striker had already been proposed to the Bianconeri when Xavi asked for Morata.”
This is an interesting development, as it’s quoted above, Depay was already offered in a swap deal for Morata, and Juve refused, but now of course with the injury to Chiesa, this changes everything and Juventus are now in the market for a replacement, and frankly, I think he could be the perfect one, as since the young Dutchman burst onto the scene by getting an assist and then scoring the winning goal against Australia at World Cup 2014, while being 20 years old, football fans around the world have been impressed with his quality, as was Barcelona as they signed the 27 year old as a replacement for Messi, though the Club would never admit that. He’s had an okay start to his Barcelona career, netting 8 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearance for the club, so why are Barcelona keen to get rid of the talented Dutchmen?
Well the answers seems to be that with the hiring of newly appointed manager Xavi Hernandez, there has been a change in Philosophy over at Camp Nou, as the coach has stated in interviews that he would like to build a club around Spanish Nationals’ and for him Morata fits the bill and with Hernadez not being impressed with Memphis Depay, the club may feel he’s the perfect sacrifices as he was signed on a free transfer and is on heavy wages.
So for Juventus, I hope this news is true and Barcelona are willing to revisit this deal. Memphis Depay has scored goals at most of his clubs in different roles. He also, like Federico Chiesa, has a reputation for being a hard worker, is an explosive player and I believe possesses the Grinta that is needed in your DNA if you really want to be considered a Juventus player.
