Opinion: Signing Milinkovic Savic will be a mistake and here’s why

According to multiple reports, Juventus are strongly interested in Lazio midfielder Serej Milinkovic Savic, to get the Serbian midfielder the Bianconeri would need to make an investment of around €100M in transfer fee, agent commission and contracts.
Juventus are undergoing a squad overhaul and there are many positions to be improved, this is why I think a investment of around €100M on a single player will be a mistake. There is no doubt Milinkovic Savic is hugely talented and technically gifted player and there are no concerns over his ability. The reason why I wouldn’t push for this deal is because of the financial side of it. Juventus should look for a cheaper option and improve the other positions as well.
With the departure of Dybala and uncertainty regarding the future of Alvaro Morata, Moise Kean and Federico Bernardeschi, Juve will need one or two reinforcements in attack. In defence, Juventus need a new centre back as Chiellini according to reports is heading towards the exit at the end of the season. The decline of Alex Sandro means the left back position will also require an upgrade. With 3-4 positions to improve as well, Juventus should not persue for the Serbian midfielder but should look for a cheap option, maybe not as as good as Milinkovic Savic but someone who is an upgrade on current midfielders at the club. This will allow the club to spend money wisely on other positions and reinforce the whole squad rather than one position.
