The Italian Football Federation’s (FIGC) Court of Appeals has explained the 15-point penalty imposed on Juventus Football Club in a 36-page document released on Monday.
The penalty was imposed because the club committed a “sporting disciplinary offense” due to repeated and prolonged violations, as highlighted in the document.
The transfers conducted by the club with Italian and foreign clubs, including Manchester City and Barcelona, and carried out by Fabio Paratici, were cited as contributing to the deduction.
The case was re-opened following a criminal investigation that brought new evidence against Paratici, who was accused of making “excessive use of capital gains” to balance the club’s books.
