For weeks negotiations have been going on between Angel Di Maria’s agents and the Juventus management but things seem to be falling apart. Both parties have been trying to find an agreement for the Argentine to join the club, but the terms are the issue.
The 34-year-old wants a one-year contract worth 8 million euros and the Bianconeri want a yearlong deal with the option for another season and a lower salary. Recent reports have said that FC Barcelona is entering the race for Di Maria as the Spanish club’s coach Xavi has already contacted the player. Barcelona cannot register Franck Kessie and Andres Christiansen, who are free agents, now due to their financial crisis and would struggle to register Di Maria as well.
Juventus wants an answer and does not want to wait forever. The management and Allegri would like to bring the winger to the team for a short-term solution to use the money to strengthen other positions but they do not consider it the end of the world if Di Maria does not join.
