Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić, remains the number one target of Juventus heading into the January transfer window. The feeling is that with persistence and the players insistence, in the end a deal can get done. Juve is ready to take advantage of the tug-of-war between the player and Lazio over the renewal that Lazio owner Claudio Lotito wants to get done, but SMS isn’t so eager to sign.
As Gazzetta has reported, the agent for SMS “Kezman” has already clarified the position of the player, his contract expires in 2024 and there is no intention to extend with Lazio. Milinkovic tried to leave already in the last transfer window, but the price made by Lazio was too expensive for every club interested (€70M) certainly numbers that Juventus clearly could not match.
But with only a year left until his contract expires, Lotito will have to lower his fee and get a deal done as he can’t risk losing the player for free, and if the players will is to come to Juve, who knows, maybe SMS will be the next Serbian to join after his country men Vlahovic and Kostic.
