Report: Juve make contacts for Icardi

We are now in the winter break and Juventus who have gotten off to a slow start under Max Allegri 2.0, sit fifth in the table, 4 points off of Atalanta and now just 5 points back of Napoli who today just lost 1-0 to Spezia, which gives Bianconeri supporters hope that a top 4 spot that seemed so far a away just a few weeks ago, is now in reaching distance with crucial games coming up against our rivals.
It is no secret that Juve need some reinforcements up front as they are still looking for more goals and have that void filled that was left with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Early reports suggested that Sassuolo Striker Gianluca Scamacca may be a target, but with Juve’s financials in a bit a mess that’s something that may be revisited come the summer.
One name though that has kept circulating for the last couple of years is that of former Inter Captain and current PSG player Mauro Icardi. A report early in the day suggested that Icardi is open to joining Juve in January, and now we can confirm through Calcio Mercato that indeed first connects have been made by Juve Director of Football Federico Cherubini and the entourage of Mauro Icardi. Where these talks go is anyones guess but at this moment it is believed that Icardi is Juve’s top target come next months transfer window.
