Paulo Dybala is among the high profile names with a contract expiring in Summer 2022. Since a long time, it was being reported that the player is set for an imminent contract extension. But the entire ordeal has been very complicated for both the parties involved. The contract renewal has been the talk of Europe due to the confusion and delay surrounding it.
As stated by Fabrizio Romano in January, “Juventus had a verbal agreement for three months with Paulo Dybala to extend his contract. But the club has now decided to to take time and wait few months/weeks before deciding on new contracts to be extended. That’s why Dybala’s future is open. Nothing decided yet.”
Moreover according to reports from Nicolò Schira, “There is a scheduled meeting between Paulo Dybala’s agent, Jorge Antun and Juventus at Turin in March. Juve are ready to offer a lower salary – €7M/year than that offered last October – €8,5M/year + 1,5M as bonuses, until 2026.”
As per latest updates, Juventus plans to offer a profitable contract if and only if Dybala is able to maintain a certain number of appearances and good performances. The idea seems very rational given the injury concerns of the Argentine.
Furthermore Nicolò Zaniolo has been in the news currently. The 22-year-old Italian is being linked with Juventus as the potential replacement for Paulo Dybala in case the contract renewal fails. And with Zaniolo’s great performance today mixed with Dybala again picking up another injury, you can bet these rumours may be real.
La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed Inter’s interest in Dybala on Saturday evening. As long as the Argentine hasn’t signed a contract extension, everything is possible. Inter CEO Moratta is aware of this and keeps putting Dybala under pressure. If he won’t renew with Juventus, Inter is there. The desire to bring him to Milan is absolutely there.
Fabiana Della Valle also reported that, prior to meeting Juventus’ board, Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun met with Inter. Dybala leaving Juventus seems to be more imaginable every day.
