Report: Juventus ready to sell Rabiot this summer

Max Statman

Adrien Rabiot has not lived up to the potential that he was brought in for and because of this, management is considering selling the player this summer. Although Allegri offered him many opportunities to prove himself, he has disappointed the club and the fans. The 26-year-old joined Juventus in 2019 as a free agent and was expected to rejuvenate the midfield but instead, he has failed to live up to his expectations.

His latest game against Villarreal was another showcase of his poor performances with Juventus and even risked getting a red card. Criticism never stopped following him after three seasons with the black and white jersey and he seemed to never reach his prime. The Bianconeri aims to sell him this summer since his contract expires in 2023 but a good offer must come first. €10/15M is enough for the club to let the midfielder go. However, this might not be easy, Rabiot’s €7M salary has always been an obstacle and makes the interested clubs skeptical. He will need to reduce his salary for other clubs to consider him.

According to Calciomercato, Newcastle has already shown interest in January but the player didn’t even consider it. Nevertheless, Juventus was so clear when they said that everyone must earn his place in the team and no one is an exception. After all, Allegri must make his decision whether he sees the French midfielder in his project or not.
