Report: Merih Demiral is set to return to Juventus
According to Romeo Agresti, Atalanta have decided that they will not be redeeming Merih Demiral and the Turkish centre back should return to Juventus. The Bianconeri have also started to look for buyers.
Atalanta had a buy option around €20M plus bonuses which they opt against. Some sources also suggests that there are some problems between Gian Piero Gasperini the coach and Demiral.
After 2 seasons at Sassuolo, Demiral joined Juventus and showed some impressive performances but his inconsistency raised some eyebrows. He was not the first choice as Chiellini, Bonucci and De Ligt were ahead of him. Hence, he was loaned to Atalanta due to his demands of game time.
Now, Demiral is expected to return again but it is unlikely he’ll stay for long.
