Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio has been linked with a move to Juventus every transfer window in recent years. The tall Serbian international, who has previously plagued the Bianconeri, is a unique type of footballer. When he’s at his best, he mixes a remarkable physique with brilliant footwork and commanding aerial ability to produce a near-unstoppable midfielder. Milinkovic-Savic was instrumental in Lazio’s progress under Simone Inzaghi until the manager left for Inter Milan last summer, and after nearly seven years in Rome, all while notching 287 appearances for Lazio, has the time now come for the 27-year-old to move on as well?

This summer, Juventus are expected to make a significant investment in midfield. Since the January transfer window closed, they’ve been connected with Paul Pogba, Ryan Gravenberch, and Renato Sanches, but Milinkovic-Savic has received the most traction. According to Calcio Mercato (via @ForzaJuveEN), Mateja Kezman, the Serbian’s agent, has ‘intensified’ negotiations with Juventus in the previous few days. The Bianconeri have been connected with Milinkovic-Savic for several years, and it looks that they are now willing to spend big to get the Lazio star to Turin.

Nicolo Schira, a transfer expert, adds that Juve coach Max Allegri and sports director Federico Cherubini are “passionate” for Milinkovic-Savic. However, it is thought that a sum in the range of €70 million would be necessary to get Lazio to the bargaining table. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the transfer. Interestingly, Milinkovic-Savic might be recruited to Old Trafford as a replacement for Pogba, who is set to depart the club as a free agent at the conclusion of the season, perhaps to Juventus. Pogba may go to Juventus and Milinkovic-Savic to United.
