Celebrations quickly turned to sorrow for Bianoconeri supporters, as early Monday morning we learned the news we all feared, that Juventus forward, and our most explosive winger, Federico Chiesa will be lost for the rest of the season, as he tore his ACL in Juve’s stunning 4-3 comeback win sunday night in Rome.
With it being January, and the transfer window still open for a few more weeks, it begs the question, can Juventus make a move in the market in order to strengthen the side in the absence of Chiesa. Of course Chiesa is irreplaceable, as football fans around the world rate him as one of the games top talents, but still, the season goes on and depth is needed, so what is Juve to do?
Well a new report tonight for Sky Sports suggests that Allegri is interested in bringing in Sardar Azmouna, a player who had impressed the manager when he scored a goal for his mediocre club side Zenit against Juve in the Champions League this season, at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, and is also a name that is continuously talked about in Russian football. The 27 year old Iranian international so far has only made 5 appearance this season, where he’s managed to score 2 goals. He is valued over €10M.
UPDATE:
tuttojuve.com’s Mirko Di Natale is reporting that Zenit value Azmoun at €20M, but the only offer so far is for €3M. His contract expires this summer.
