As reported by Nico Schira, at the start of February, Federico Cherubini had met with the agent of Zaniolo, Claudio Vigorelli. The player was also said to be Paulo Dybala’s replacement in case the Argentine’s Contract renewal fails and he leaves. And now this morning on the front pages of Gazzetta dello Sport, the paper is reporting that “Zaniolo is currently the first goal of Juventus for the summer and the player will not renew with Roma anytime soon. Yesterday’s social media likes can be the first step in a long negotiation.” Luca Bianchin is also reporting that for Zaniolo’s part, he was a Juventino growing up and at the moment he’s not looking to sign a contract extension with Roma.
Zaniolo’s current contract expires in 2024, but Roma have met with him and his entourage to renew. Juventus is keeping a close eye on the situation involving the 22-year-old midfielder, as they try to prepare themselves for the potential loss of Paulo Dybala. Multiple reports suggest that the Bianconeri want to reduce his salary and are ready to let him go if he doesn’t accept. Lots of clubs, including Inter, would be interested in bringing Dybala in.
In addition to this, Roma’s general manager Tiago Pinto said this about Zaniolo’s future in Giallorossi . “Will Zaniolo for sure play for Roma next season? I can’t guarantee that and no one can.”
