Spurs make McKennie January priority
We are just a little over a week away from the start of 2022 and with that a new Mercato window opens for the full month of January, recently we have talked about those who Juventus may target but a recent report by Calcio Mercato has us here reporting on a possible departure.
The Italian transfer website has reported that English Premier League squad Tottenham HotSpur, who are led by former Juventus director of football Fabio Paratici and his newly appointed coach Antonio Conte, have their sights set on Juventus attacking midfielder and US international Weston Mckennie.
In fact it is Conte himself who is said to be a big fan of the player and has made the request that Spurs management make the contacts with Juventus to enquire if the Bianconeri would be open to dealing 23 year old over to them.
However, it won’t be easy to sign McKennie, after Juventus paid Schalke €4.5 million to initially sign him on loan, then €18.5m over three years, plus €6.5m in potential add-ons, to make the move permanent.
In addition to that. Juventus manager Max Allegri sees McKennie as someone reliable, and the future of the club, having played played him 18 times this season in the centre of midfield and on the right wing, where he has scored 2 goals.
