As some Juventini friends of mine may know, I live in Toronto, and because I this I follow our cities MLS club side Toronto FC. This is why I was well aware of Weston McKennie, years before I ever could even imagine him scoring goals and waving his Harry Potter wand for the Bianconeri. That’s why ever since his signing and others such as Canadian superstar Alphonso Davies signing to Bayern Munich, I always kept a close eye on the next young North American talent that could be picked up on the cheap.

The latest MLS talent that caught my eye was Canadian international and New England Revolution Star Tajon Buchanan, but even before I could cry out that Juventus should sign him, he was scooped up on the cheap by the Belgian Pro League side Club Brugg.

Being Canadian I was happy for the boy, but as a Juventini I’m hoping we just didn’t miss out on the next Davies, on very a good price. For this reason I was presently surprised too hear that Juventus our following 17 year old Polish American Phenom Gabriel Slonina , someone I call the American Donnarumma.

Slonina has had a break out season for his club The Chicago Fire. “I am proud of how the season went, especially for how much I played. This is the most important factor for a  young player like me”. He told Transfermarkt.com.

The young man is the son of Polish immigrants who landed in Illinois. Lots of European clubs our following him, but my hope is with his Polish roots and Juventus having under contract for a few more years Polish Starting Keeper Wojciech Szczesny who can act like a mentor, that might be enough to sway the young American to Turin.
