Paul Pogba’s Juventus future uncertain as he awaits CAS hearing, according to Ilbianconero.
Paul Pogba’s second stint at Juventus appears to be over, and his football career may be as well, as the French midfielder faces a four-year ban for failing a doping test.
However, despite the opportunity, Juventus has not yet terminated his contract.
Reason for Juventus’ Delay in Terminating Pogba’s Contract
Pogba joined Juventus on July 1, 2022, and as is customary for players returning to Italy after two years abroad, he benefits from the “Decreto Crescita” tax relief scheme, which allows the club to pay half of his salary taxes.

This benefit, however, expires if the player leaves the club before two years have passed. In Pogba’s case, this means before June 30, 2024. If he were to leave before then, Juventus would be liable to pay the full amount of taxes on his salary, which is double what they are currently paying.
Current Status and Next Steps
Pogba’s appeal against the four-year ban is currently being heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). If the ban is upheld, it is highly unlikely that Pogba will play professional football again. Juventus is likely waiting for the CAS decision before making any further moves regarding Pogba’s contract.
