According to many reports Gianluca Ferrero has been chosen to replace outgoing Juventus President Andrea Agnelli.

Andrea Agnelli and the rest of the board of directors of Juventus have resigned from their positions on Monday, and the club wants to replace him immediately.

The 59-year-old was chosen as the favoured candidate by Exor, the holding company that owns the majority of shares in Juventus. He is an economics expert, deputy chairman of the board of directors for Banca del Piemonte and well placed to clean up the financial mess he could inherit.

“Ferrero has solid experience and technical competence as well as a true passion for the Bianconeri, which make him the best candidate to cover the role,” Exor said in a statement.

He is the Technical Advisor to the Judge at the Turin Court and the President of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Fincantieri, Luigi Lavazza, Biotronik Italia, Praxi Intellectual Property, P. Fiduciaria , Emilio Lavazza, Gedi Publishing Group, Nuo and Lifenet.
