The time is now for Juventus. After so many disappointments in the Champions League, Juventus have a chance to put some demons to rest on Wednesday when they take on Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 in Turin. With the away goals rule no longer being an issue, Juventus must take advantage, especially with it being a home match. As long as they play with the intensity of a final, there should be no issue going through.
With so many injuries, you can bet Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri will be scrambling to find the right players to play in a formation that he believes will be victorious against the Yellow Submarines. Many players have gotten a lot of minutes in the last few weeks, but there is probably a lot of doubts in the coach’s head as well as in the minds of the supporters on the Bianconeri. One thing is for sure, you can bet that Juventus center back Matthijs de Ligt will be there.
Who will be next to the Dutchman is another story. Reports saying Giorgio Chiellini could be ready have some supporters feeling optimistic. Bonucci is out, so that leaves Daniele Rugani as the only other option, and maybe not a bad one, as the 27-year-old has proven himself this season after past seasons of mediocrity, but can he continue the string of good performances in such a high-pressure situation? Well, that’s another story.
