Matthjis De Ligt seems to be a very hot name right now as reports suggest De Ligt is ready to leave Juventus. Juventus had been in talks with De Ligt over the last few weeks to discuss a renewal, so far, no positive signals have arrived from the player regarding renewing at Juventus. Reports in the last hours have linked to a move to Premier League, Chelsea in particular.
“With two years left on his contract and no signs of a imminent contract extension, I think it’s the right time to cash in on Matthjis De Ligt. His time at Juventus hasn’t been particularly impressive. The defender has caused a lot of trouble to Juventus with the hand balls. Despite, being one of the best Juventus player’s, De Ligt for his transfer fee has under-performed massively during his time in Turin. De Ligt is not someone irreplaceable, there are many centre backs on the same level if not better.
For De Ligt himself moving on might be a better solution, he’s not particularly improved his game in Italy and England might be more suitable to his game.
A fee in the region of €80M seems to me like a fair price. Juventus can cope something similar to what they paid Ajax three years ago for the services of the dutch centre back.”
