Andrea Cambiaso ruled out for Derby d’Italia after two-game ban
Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso has been handed a two-match suspension following his red card in the Serie A opener against Parma.
The decision was confirmed by the Sports Judge and comes as a blow for both the club and the player, especially ahead of the much-anticipated clash against Inter Milan.
Cambiaso was sent off in the 83rd minute of Juventus’ first league match of the season for violent conduct.

According to the official statement released by the Sports Judge, the former Genoa player was punished for “striking an opponent in the face with an open hand while the ball was not in play.”
As a result, Cambiaso will miss Juventus’ upcoming league fixtures: the away game against Genoa and the high-profile showdown against Inter at the Allianz Stadium, scheduled immediately after the international break.
This suspension, which aligns with standard disciplinary protocol for similar offenses, forces head coach Igor Tudor to find alternative solutions on the left flank.
Cambiaso is expected to return to action in the fourth round of the season, when Juventus face Hellas Verona away.
Notably, Cambiaso is not the first Juventus player to receive a two-match ban for violent conduct—teammates Kenan Yildiz and Pierre Kalulu faced similar suspensions at the end of last season.
