Juventus want Barcelona star with €30M offer

Juventus are trying again to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona. The Italian club has made an offer of €30 million for the defender.

Araujo had a difficult season. He was injured with a hamstring problem for many months. During that time, Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez became the main defenders for coach Hansi Flick.

In January, Juventus wanted to sign Araujo. They were very close, but Barcelona’s director Deco convinced the player to stay and sign a new contract.

However, after staying, Araujo did not play much. He only appeared in 12 La Liga games for the rest of the season.

Now, a report from Sport says Juventus have returned with a new offer. Soon, Araujo’s release clause will drop to €65-70 million, but Juventus do not want to pay that much.

Instead, they are offering €25-30 million to try and sign him. Juventus hope Barcelona will accept because the Spanish club has big financial problems.

Barcelona must sell some players to fix their money problems and register new signings, like Nico Williams. This is why Juventus think they have a good chance to sign Araujo for a lower price.

But it is not clear yet if Barcelona will accept this offer or wait for more money.
